Don't Waste Them Christmas Cards, Girl!

I mean real, old school cards ... this won't work for those family photo ones. Sorry. Also, I may be a day late and a dollar short because you might've already gotten sick of lookin at em and threw them guys in the trash. 

But, if you didn't ... here's an idea (stolen from the SIL, Lois Ellen ... she doesn't have a blog, so I'm sharing for her) ...

Girl, cut them thangs up and make gorgeous gift tags!

You know you have some cards that are so pretty, but you're like, "Ugh. I don't wanna save this shiz. What can I do with it? Oh well." And into the trash they go.

Just find pieces that are big enough to write your "To: and From:" .... hole punch ... get some pretty ribbon ... and TA-DOW!

Whooo ... wheeeee !!!



Chop 'em up and put 'em in a baggie in your Christmas wrap stuff, shug! Who knows? You might be feelin' festive and wanna get your real gift wrap on ... as opposed to the decorative boxes, tape and stick-on gift tags I used this year.

 * For that matter, you could do this with birthday cards/tags ... whatever occasion. Just sayin'.

Undecorating the Mantle

It's time. I'm tired of seein' it. Time for the Christmas decor to go. Here's a pic of the mantle decorated for Christmas .... posted about it here.

I decided I was still diggin the sled ($15!!!) and I'm lovin that old window. Still deciding if I'm okay with it bein naked.

That was one of our wedding pics in black and white, and I never got around to buying a frame for it. Then I found that magical one there, and it was obviously too big. I really like the look of black and white against a contrast of color and pattern. So, I found an old vintage pillow case, used it as matting and folded the excess around the back of the frame before putting the backing back on. That way, I can still use the pillow case later on for something else.

Wanna know what I've been eating too much of? You do? Great! I'll tell you.

Somebody left some cheddar popcorn at our tailgate, so I sure did dump it in our Monster Mix from Target, added Crispix, and then added more mixed nuts. Pair with a Diet Coke = de*friggin*lish.

I didn't want to keep that to myself.

Now I gotta actually put all this Christmas magic back in boxes and into the attic. And vacuum.

Bish, Come Back, I'm stuck!

Isn't it fun when your frands come stay with you? This here shugpie is my girl from high school, and she blogs over at Life on the Rox. She and the hubs came to stay with us for the bowl game, which was completely magical. You can read more about that in yesterday's post. (Go Pack!)

She's the kind of friend you can count on to help you out ... like when you get both of your legs stuck in a fold up chair at the Panthers' Stadium.

And laugh with you for at least 5 minutes until your makeup done run all down your face, and all the car ride home, and then again the next day, because your husband says stuff like, "Yeah, coyotes (pronounced Kai-oats) be eatin' people's cats n shit" Umm, what Anj?

I just had to show y'all the magical prizes she brought me from  Smitten.

Is this not right up my alley? The idea is to wear several necklaces at different lengths. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing I would see and bout die for, but talk myself out of because I don't need it.

Well shuga bees, you KNOW we had to purchase some bowl tickets to watch our NC Stizzle boys in the Charlotte.

Super exciting times. Lots of friends came in for the game, especially since it was so close to Christmas. Yay!

Christmas decor was still on display in downtown Charlotte.

Annnnd, we were expecting yucky downpour half the day. BUT - it cleared up by lunch! Holla!

Twas a magical day of cornhole playing ...

Catching up with old friends ...

And making some new ones ... in bomb NC Stizzle pants, a sports coat, a bow tie and cowboy boots - clearly, my kinda guy.

A good time was had by all .... well, mostly ...

We were all united by our love for the Pack.

SUPER thrilled about a reason to wear my Christmas prize hat ^ so soon after receiving it!!!

Got our grub on .... ain't NOTHIN wrong with sausage balls, Bojangle's and grilled treats, know what I'm sayin?

Every beverage is better wrapped in NC Stizzle love.

Hell, it was worth dancin over. And jumpin around.

Well, I hope y'all's Christmas was as straight mag as mine was. 

Brody loves him some Christmas time. All the paper, bows, bubble wrap ... thought he was gonna explode from sheer joy. Not to mention this bomb chicken treat ball he got. Which totally was full of some rawhide nibblet treats which exploded all over the floor. He frantically licked up as much as possible before the vacuum cleaner devoured the rest.

Course Brody loves him some balls. Tennis balls, espesh. Hubs enjoys takin pics where Brody and I both are trying to retrieve the ball. Just look at the rapid motion of that tail.

There may or may not have been an episode where a pint of Maker's Mark was dropped on the concrete in the driveway in the bag which included some other red undie stocking stuffers. Nothin like whiskey soaked draws in ya stockin, am I right? We had to go somewhere before they finished dryin in the dryer, so I had to finish the job on the headrest of Sylvia's passenger seat, like any good elf would.

Anj got his nap on at every stop ... including nappage through vacuuming of Brody's exploding chicken ball (see above), and the yankage of a rug out from under his feet, and then replacement of said rug later.

BUT THEN - news broke of Anj's upcoming wisdom tooth removal surgery - 3 comin out. Y'all - Anj's wisdom teeth are growin in straight SIDEways. I have a pic of that too ... but I will spare you. TOE UP!

Ma and Pa Kettle got us a bomb diggity camera. I have been playin with it ... if you are a real photographer, you won't be amazed by these pics. BUT I AM. So, let me have my joy.
