BABY POWDER: A FINE-HAIRED, SWEAT & HUMIDITY-HATIN' GIRL'S BEST FRIEND

I told y'all yesterday that I am so over summer and ready for fall. It still stands. I'm ready to get my brrrr on.

Meanwhile, I was reading this post over at my shugpie Sydney's about the best dry shampoos. I am not one of those chicks who can go days without washing my hair. Eww. Fine, thin, hot ass mess. BUT - know what really helps me go two days instead of one? And better than any dry shampoo I've ever tried?

Baby powder -
 on the roots before bed (even if it's before your hair starts to feel oily). Don't be totally freaked if your hair looks white like a Halloween witch. Typically, sleeping on it all night gets rid of that and you can't even see it. {But, I mean, if you are real worried about it, you can try it when you ain't got no place important to be the next day.}

And then -
well, then I read this post over at Helene's. Hahahaha! It's funny because of 1) the photo and 2) it's a post about keepin' a fresh vadge. I love Helene.

Haven't tried the Summer's Eve wipes she was talkin' about over there, but - once again, baby powder's my #1 beauty product in the summer time, y'all. You can put that shit anywhere. I mean, no, it's not the same as a shower, but say you get out of the shower, and you're goin' to Davis Store in the summer time - or, sayyyy, a cookout and you KNOW you are about to be hotter'n forty hell. Pays to put on some baby powder to at least delay the swamp ass and keep your thighs from chafin' the hell outta each other every time you walk. The possibilities are endless. But here's a good place to start - I mean, this is basically me gettin ready:

Works like a charm.
Just sayin'.

Baby powder.

Cheap.
Smells good.
Keeps your thighs from startin' a fire.
Keeps sweat from makin' little rivers all over your body.

This concludes the most awkward post I've ever written.

Peace.

revlon colorstay overtime lipcolor - thumbs up!!

Revlon Colorstay Overtime Lipcolor
(I got Stay Currant 280)

I just wanted to give a little shout out to this stuff.
I do not typically wear lip stick.
Because it doesn't stay.
You have to reapply it 100 times.
It runs off of your lips and onto your face.
Or, it's dry as a bone and chaps your lips.

BUT -

this is not the case with this stuff.

I like it because:
* if you apply it correctly, letting the color dry completely before applying the gloss, it will last for hourrrrs, even through eating and drinking. I kissed Anj, and it didn't come off all over his face!
* it doesn't dry out. I did use the gloss along with the color as explained above, but hours later, I just added some Burt's Bees since it's so cold and dry outside, but I feel that this stuff keeps your lips pretty moisturized. {I would be applying Burt's Bees a few times throughout the day whether I had lipstick on or not, especially this time of year.}
* it's easy to build color. I applied it pretty thinly, and it's plenty of color.

My skin is warm and fair/light and this color works for me. It makes the green in my eyes pop, but it's not too red. It's more a brick color.
It comes in 26 shades, although I wouldn't count on finding all of them available in the store.

You can find it at Target, and Walmart. I didn't have any luck at any drugstores though.
It's around $8.

* Also, it should be noted that if you go to Revlon's website to look at the color selection, the sample colors look NOTHING like they look in real life. :(

elf yourself, i recommend

Sooo, remember how I bought these two items from Tarjay the other night?

Photobucket

Well, I have to say, I like. I tried to take pics to model for you how magical they are:

Photobucket

Hmmm. This may actually dissuade you from buying. See how rounnnnd my face is? I look like a blushing chipmunk, huh?

Anyway, as far as what they are supposed to do, I'm good ... especially for $1 and $6. The facial cream (left, $1), is great as a highlighter. I used it at the top of my cheek bones at a bit of an angle ... to attempt to create somewhat of a cheekbone, because clearly, I ain't got cheek bones. I also used it on my brow bone. I will say, it isn't much in the way of blush as far as offering any color. I had to do blush color separately. But, yes, points for brightening and making you look all dewey and fresh. ;)

The primer (right, $6) did help with even application of make up. I have an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. :( I don't know that it made my make up last any longer. But then again, neither did the $24 primer by Bare Escentuals.

I got both of mine at Target, but you can also find them here and here.

Gotta run, the Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio version of Romeo + Juliet is on.

Target // dairy before bed = no bueno

Part 1: {Target}

So, after my shittay day yesterday, we went to Target last night and I bought these items:

1 - elf facial whip  (compare to Benefit's High Beam - I've never tried High Beam, but anyhoo, this elf goodness was $1, not $24)

Photobucket

2 - elf mineral primer (compare to Bare Escentuals primer - again, this is $6 not $22)

Photobucket
I will let y'all know how these work out, k?

3 - Also, I bought this: (totally "ineffective", but tryin to lay off the caffeine train, frands. Not good for all the ridiculous people/shiz in my life that cause me STRESS.)
Photobucket
Part 2: {dairy before bed = no bueno}

1 - The other night, I ate some Greek yogurt right before bed.

Y'all - holy shizzam. Madness ensued. It was like I was in a movie all night. Not a good movie. It started off with Andrew beein like 40 lbs. heavier, wearin a robe and some pink sweatpants on the side of the streets ... reminded me of Old School.

Photobucket

Yikes. Then he got hot and wanted to take the pink sweatpants off. In the middle of the street.

Other portions of this never ending dream included the cute pharmacist from CVS at my house. Love her and all. I mean, she is SO HELPFUL all the time. But - she was in my bedroom. With my husband. Say what? I gouged her in the forehead with a hard plastic tube of lip gloss.

Then - we were at the endocrinologist, where Anj was gonna get his A1c checked too. But it was gonna cost $600. And I was like, nosir. And the nurse kept smiling and she was just gonna do it anyway, and I was like, "Look, b*&^%, clearly you got some S*&^ disconnected. You can draw blood from his vein all you want, but I ain't payin you no $600. Period."

(Anj is still chunkalicious and half clothed in his robe during allllll of this.)

Continuing on ... while we were waiting to be called back by the doctor, there was a Good Will conveniently connected to the lobby. Sooo ... we were browsing through 80's junk. Found one cowboy boot and was pissed because I couldn't find the matching one.

2 - Clearly, I don't learn from mistakes, so last night, I ate a big arse bowl of yogurt again before bed.

Dreamed I was strapped to the bottom of the airplane ... and I had secured my own safety belts, and we were flying over the ocean, and I'm just prayin I don't fall off and die. Whaaaat??

Photobucket

Suddenly, we were taking a little pit stop or somethin, and now I am inside the plane, which was barely glued together, and all these people were super under the influence and laughing about everything and I was like, "For God's sake. We gone die!"

I don't even remember the rest.

Thankfully.

Happy Friday shugs!

Rain, Target & the Joy of Pnut Buttah

Call me a weirdo, but I love rainy night trips to Target. First of all, I have been wanting a better teasing tool for my thin, baby fine hair, especially since no matter what I do, my crown shows FULLY WHOLLY AND COMPLETELY OBVIOUSLY. No matter what. I saw this gizmo over on Pink Lou Lou's site, and I liked the idea but I am impatient, and didn't want to order online and have to wait for it, so I thought, I bet they got somethin close at good ole Tar Jay, right?

So, we needed groceries anyhoo, so off we went, in the pourin down rain. Poor Sylvia was strugglin to navigate through all that water. And she need her some new windshield wipers, Anj Davis. Wink, wink.

Anyhoo, we arrived at the Tar Jay safely, and here are some things I was especially excited about. You know, stuff you bought, but you don't feel guilty because it's not really shoppin, it's just stuff you picked up while buyin groceries.

Morning crack deliciousness
and the coffee was on sale for $6.99!!!
My sensor is a bit awkward, bless her heart and she attaches to my body on one end, but the other end of her flops away from my body, makin yankage out of my body highly likely. So, she has to be strapped down like a mental patient. The regular band-aids I've been using ain't gettin it.

we are currently in trial mode ... band-aid's still there because it hurts to take em off ... TMI? Just imagine the hotness during beach season. ;)

Movin on ....

here's the conair version of PLL's brush ... it was $5.49 at target, and I LIKES. Couldn't find it on the Target website, but you can get 'em at Walgreens, CVS, etc.

and oh how I DO love me some honeycrisp apples - to me fall = extra apple consumption

***
after we returned from our Tar Jay extravaganza, we split this bad boy because 80g of carbs is too much at one time for this sister in diabeetus.

And no, hubs can't leave well enough alone. He thinks all apples must have peanut butter - even candy ones. I have NEVER seen him just eat a friggin apple.

What a friggin weirdo.

I tried it.

It was awesome.

What it isn't realllly shopping purchases do YOU get excited about?
